VISUAL DESIGN ARCHITECTS (VDA)
Commentary
The Visual Design Architects website is a good example of my writing ability and UX capabilities.
It’s a current start-up reflecting the culmination of a vision Claudiu Sabau (Luxembourg) and I had for our customers when we worked together at a virtual custom software development company. We noticed a pattern of customers wasting large sums of money when they were unable to fully specify their software needs.
Blending usability and aesthetics, VDA’s unique approach speeds up the visualization and design process, creating content that is quicker and less expensive to revise, saving clients time and money.
Working with clients to clarify key project concepts and elements, we create visuals we call “Design Blueprints,” which can be submitted for funding requests as well as bids for advertising and software development projects.
CountThings APP
I was the UX specialist on the CountThings app team, from the early stages of commercial computer vision technology to the app’s initial release years later. Although computer vision technology was developing rapidly, how users interacted with that technology was practically unusable. I proposed a technical paradigm shift to the development team that made the counting app feasible.
Specifically, instead of having users blindly input specific values that would generate a count result (almost always off the mark), I suggested that the developers turn the approach upside-down: have the code vary the parameters and generate several visual counting results. Users could then select the visual that best matched their situation.
I directed the design of the user experience on both the website and mobile apps (fighting responsive design), the product pricing structure, the learning guides (written and video tutorials), as well as the marketing strategy.
